Back on track – BionicOldGuy

After recent setbacks like sciatica, my training is finally back on track. Now that I try to post more often, I think I’m somewhat overwhelmed, maybe a little discouraged. I have been doing a lot of PT stretching and strengthening the muscles in the lower back and hip area so hopefully no more back slippage. I’m back to an average of two hours of exercise a day, including biking, strength training, and PT. So far so good!

I went to the Coyote Creek Trail on Friday, but instead of the paved road, I rode straight on the local dirt roads. These are very lightly used, I think they are intended more for horseback riding, but they are great for bikes as long as you have wide enough tires. I was able to stand upright again for longer periods of time, which I found to be a pleasant alternative to sitting.

Yesterday he returned to visit the hills southwest of the city. At good speeds, around 18 mph (~30 km/h) or so, it’s fun to drive with a little electric assistance.
